Wellcome Trust PhD Programme for Clinicians x 7 University of Cambridge Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute:

The University of Cambridge and the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute are offering 7 Wellcome Trust funded PhD fellowships for clinicians to commence by December 2013. The fellowships provide full financial support for salary, University and College fees and research consumables for 3 years*. There is also funding for a further 3 months to allow successful applicants to experience, understanding different research groups before choosing their PhD supervisor. Candidates who are interested in computational biology, epidemiology or public health can be funded for an additional 1 year M.Phil in order to obtain the appropriate skills before starting their PhD. It is expected that many candidates will have already commenced their specialist training, however this is not necessary. The vital criteria we are looking for are academic excellence and the potential to pursue a career in academic medicine.
